Suspicious Activity – Vehicles and Residences
Nelson Police Department received multiple reports of suspicious activity involving individuals checking vehicle and residential doors in various areas of the city. No forced entry or thefts have been reported at this time. Nelson Police are actively patrolling affected areas and continuing to monitor for suspicious behaviour.
The public is encouraged to report activity such as individuals attempting to open vehicle or house doors, looking into vehicles, lingering on private property without an apparent purpose, moving between properties while checking door handles, or attempting to conceal their actions when observed. When safe to do so, callers are asked to note clothing descriptions, direction of travel, and any vehicles associated with the activity. Residents are reminded to lock vehicles and doors, remove valuables, and report suspicious activity promptly.
“Calling police when something looks out of place helps us respond quickly and can prevent property crime,” said CSO Harmandeep Singh.
