The Nelson Farmers Market is a city-managed service supporting local food producers, artisans, and community well-being. The Nelson Farmers Market has been a community staple for more than 40 years and is entering its sixth year as a City of Nelson program, remaining a valued community asset that strengthens the local economy and enhances Nelson’s appeal to residents and visitors alike.
For the 2026 season, the Nelson Farmers Market team is maintaining the Wednesday Farmers Market location of the 600 Block of Baker Street and the Hall Street Plaza. While early-season planned construction in downtown Nelson may require a temporary relocation, the market will return to Baker Street when the work is completed.
Applications will be live March 1, 2026!
We are looking forward to another successful market experience in 2026 for all vendors, businesses, community members, and tourists visiting throughout our region.
The Nelson Farmers Market proudly supports local farmers and small business owners from around The Kootenay Region. The market has a wide variety of fresh farm produce, including fruits and vegetables, dairy, honey, meat, and eggs.
Our amazing artisan vendors create beautiful pottery, jewelry, apothecary, home goods, and so much more! While you browse the market for amazing goodies and gifts, you can treat yourself to some delicious fresh-baked pastries, hot foods, and a variety of tasty beverages.
In 2025, the market supported over 257 local farm, food, and artisan vendors from across the Interior, with more than 45 vendors at each weekly market throughout the season. The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets Nutrition Coupon Program also had a highly successful year, with $67,922 returned directly to local farms while supporting low-income households, pregnant people, and seniors in our community.
